VINTAGE POSTER SUNDAY

Truer words were never spoken.  If you dig now, and plant veggies, you'll have food all year long.  This was during the war to help remind people that growing their own vegetables would not only help them year round by providing food, it would also, hopefully, help with "victory" in the war.

I think it would be a "victory" today if more people grew their own food.
We'll be contributing our part in just a few months!

  1. My Grandma Kate had a HUGE garden on the farm all the time, she was alive up to the end of WW II a few years later, my Uncle Felix grew a 3 foot wide lettuce and I have the pic to prove it. Gran taught all her family to garden and my Dad put in a large garden right up to the Spring before he died. Mum and i couldn't harvest it all and gave a wheelbarrow full of green tomatoes to my cousin and his family who lived nearby
